Lots of kangas in front of the lodge this morning. Big banks of clouds along the mainland but sun breaking in. Not much wind with mist hanging above the gorge rocks.
Wedgies in the sky this morning. Walked through stillness and mizzle to Fuzzy's grave. Then into the narrow-leafs for a while. Found a marked trail - one of Cheery's no doubt. Not time to walk it today. Rain picked up and we retreated to the sheds. The usual discussion about converting them to a residence. 13.4 mm of rain today - we're the wettest place in the state by a long way.
Windy morning - though not cold. Finally heard from Al. Big swells bending across the bay - waves from who knows how far to the south. As I keep saying to people we're sitting on the edge of the biggest weather engine on the planet.

Sensational sunny morning after a big blow - a prelude to winter. Flew back to the island (Tuesday) through boofy storm clouds, the plane bobbling around like the head on a parcel-shelf dog. All night we had line squalls racing through, sometimes with thunder and hail crashing on the iron roof. Then spells of calm.  On dusk no sign of the usual kangaroo migrations - nor many birds either. For a day or so the cape was the windiest and wettest place around. The Scraper was pumped up as waves rolled around the Cape into the westerley their breaking crests moving across like shooting gallery ducks. Another dead young kangaroo near the track to the beach. But then it all vanished east. Big line of clouds like snow-capped mountains along the mainland at dawn. Probably raining at Aldgate. Here all is sparkly and bright.
